R.I.P. George Michael

George Michael has died at the age of 53, and was said to have "passed away peacefully at home". The former Wham! singer who achieved even greater fame as a solo artist found his success in the early 80s after forming the band Wham! with Ridgeley.

The bands 1983 debut, Fantastic, reached No. 1 in the UK and produced a series of top 10 singles including “Young Guns”, “Wham Rap!” and “Club Tropicana”.

Michael launched a solo career with the release of Faith in 87, and has an album that spent 51 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the US Billboard 200. This includes 12 weeks at No. 1. with four of his songs. “Faith”, “Father Figure”, “One More Try”, and “Monkey” — reached No. 1 on the US singles chart. He was later awarded a Grammy. He will be missed!
