Featured Beer for December: Port Brewing Santa’s Little Helper

Move Over Milk and Cookies. Give Santa and His Reindeer Something They Can Use!

December 19, 2017

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and have we got a brew that will keep your holidays merry and bright! Santa’s Little Helper from Port Brewing rides into town every holiday season and has long been a local favorite and one of Port’s best sellers. As with any imperial stout, you can expect an abundance of cocoa and roasty notes, with just a hint of coffee and dark fruit. Pairs great with cookies, Nat King Cole holiday albums, and ugly Christmas sweaters. Just take a look at the label and you’ll already start feeling festive. And just who is that silhouetted figure sidling up to the bar with Rudolph? We can only guess, now that the stuffed shirts at the label regulating bureau have objected to a fully lit Santa (no double entendre intended…) appearing on a beer label. But, for goodness sake we ask, what the heck are the kiddies doing in a bottle shop on Christmas Eve anyway?

Anyway, whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, you deserve to have a few of these waiting for you under the tree. Be sure to put them in the fridge before serving, though—but not for too long! Stouts and winter warmers are best served at cellar temperature rather than ice cold. That way you get to savor all the flavor. So don your santa hat and the most festive sweater you have, and settle in by the fireside for a glass of holiday cheer! Happy Holidays!
