Tom DeLonge's interest in UFOs and aliens is quite well documented, and he's also a big baseball fan that roots for his hometown team, the San Diego Padres.

At a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he posted a selfie at Petco Park taunting the visiting team... which resulted in making an unlikely friend from the opposing team.

The look of a man who needs 3 runs for his boys the @padres... but the Pittsburgh Pirates have “the runs”

The Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams, who is also a San Diego native, came to see him in the stands and brought him a signed baseball that read "To: Tom, I believe..."

The two bonded over chatting about UFOs and the unknown, Tom DeLonge said in his thank you to the Pirates pitcher on his Instagram, "I gave him a little message about UFOs... something that is quite a big sekret".

When you post against the visiting team and they find you at your seat and give you a signed baseball... fuck, now I need to like the Pirates. Ha. Thanks @mellamotrevor! I gave him a little message about UFOs... something that is quite a big sekret

The new History Channel six-part documentary Tom is involved in, Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation, is set to premiere next Friday, May 31st.

In a statement about the new series, DeLonge said, “With this show, the real conversation can finally begin. I’m thankful to History for giving the To The Stars Academy team of world-class scientists, engineers and intelligence experts the opportunity to tell the story in a comprehensive and compelling way.  I think everyone that watches the show will walk away with questions answered and a feeling of, ‘Wow, I get it now.’”
