Happy National IPA Day!  A whole day to celebrate those hoppy wonders that tantalize our taste buds.  What a joke!  We live in San Diego, EVERY DAY is IPA day.  We live in a city that loves its hops just as much as it loves every inch of coastline it sits on.  To be honest I could have made this list 50+ deep, but the challenge was to find the 10 best IPAs I find myself drinking the most:

1. Mike Hess Brewing Grapefruit Solis
I’ll never forget the first time I had this beer, Hess had made it for Seaworld and I busted Greg for using fruit from Mike’s backyard in front of the gang from Seaworld (ask him to tell the story).  This beer is juicy with a HUGE wallop of citrusy grapefruit, crisp and delicious.

2. Latitude 33 Blood Orange IPA
Highly addictive IPA!  It’s loaded with citrusy goodness with a subtle sweetness on the finish.

3. Alpine Brewing Company Duet
OG San Diego IPA loaded with everyone’s favorite Simcoe and Amarillo hops.

4. Societe The Pupil
Dry and tropical with notes of mango and guava.  Devastatingly drinkable at 7.5% ABV

5. Resident Brewing Chasing Citra
A staple every time I’m at Petco Park for a Padres game!  Bright and crisp with tangerine, almost pineapple hop profile.

6. BNS Revolver IPA
No one ever expected a GABF GOLD medal IPA to come out of Santee, but it did!  Explosive citrus notes on a clean and dry finishing IPA at 6.5% AVB makes this beer a go-to anytime!

7. Modern Times Fortunate Islands
Modern Times makes A LOT of amazing IPAs, but this is one IPA you can always count on to be available and delicious.  This twist on this beer is that it’s a wheat IPA, with super tropical hops that hint at flavors of passionfruit and tangerine.

8. Breakwater Brewing DMJ IPA
Who needs orange juice with their eggs when you have this!?  This is my breakfast IPA!  It’s dry, crisp and piney!

9. Mother Earth Boo Koo IPA
Why hello Mosaic.  Boo Koo is both citrusy and piney with a dry finish and very hop forward.

10. Eppig Brewing 10:45 to Denver
Probably the most dank IPA on the list of 10 and all thanks to a very healthy dose of Cascade hops.  When I need a break from tropical, tropical, tropical I always find this beer in my hand.

CHEERS!!!
