Would you live in a shed for $1,050/month?

The latest outrage over San Diego's rent prices were sparked with a new listing in University Heights for a 200 sq. ft. studio inside of a shed.

The listing drew attention on San Diego's Reddit page, with the author writing, “Someone is really charging people $1,100 to live in a shed. And they want you to have a 650+ credit score too.”

The rental requirements according to Zumper include: making 2.5 times the monthly rent and a credit score of 650+, plus good rental references, no evictions and no pets.

The unit has no laundry or on-site parking, but does include AC.

A representative told the San Diego Union-Tribune they have had no shortage of interest in the studio, with about 100 inquiries in the roughly three weeks since it was listed.

On average, studio rentals in the area run for about $1,100 each month, but are typically bigger.
