12 San Diego Beaches Top List of Cleanest Beaches in SoCal

June 26, 2019

We have some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, and now we have some of the cleanest! Heal the Bay, a Southern California enviornmental group, has put out their annual list of the cleanest and dirtiest beaches. 12 of our beaches made the "Honor Roll" list for being the cleanest, according to Heal the Bay's water quality report card.

The water pollution is tested throughout the year, regardless of the weather, and the following beaches have earned an A+ grade:

  • Cardiff: Seaside State Park, Las Olas, Charthouse
  • Carlsbad: Poinsettia Lane, Ponto Beach, Encina Creek Outlet, Palomar Airport Road, Cerezo Drive
  • Encinitas: San Elijo State Park (North End, Liverpool Drive)
  • Solana Beach: Tide Beach State Park
  • Oceanside: Cassidy Street

Thankfully, San Diego did NOT make it onto the " Beach Bummer's List," which keeps track of the beaches with the most polluted water at any given time.
