Hey Califonia, Bud Light is offering to give beer to all the soccer fans of the land if Mexico is able to throw the "curse of the fifth" as they compete against Brazil in the World Cup on Monday.

So what's this "curse of the fifth"? Since 1994 Mexico has been unable to advance past the round of 16 in the World Cup - Yeah, do the math, that's 24 years of languishing just outside the Group stage. On Wednesday Mexico advanced despite losing to Sweden when South Korea championed a surprise win against Germany.

How the Bud Light proclamation comes to fall upon the golden state of California is a mystery. True, we are a border town, but why not Texas or Arizona? Maybe they're trying to get a toe-hold in a state awash with craft brew... Regardless, we're not ones to sniff at free beer.

There's no news from the company on the logistics of distributing this free beer across the state. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, GO MEXICO!!
